The Henschel family are proud owners of Barrel House, a craft whiskey blending house. Stephen and Denise Henschel are a dynamic couple with two amazing children. They bring two separate worlds and meld them into one. They brought design and discovery together to create an ultimate whiskey experience. Throughout their search of Planet Earth, they looked at all four corners of the world to find a place that would connect whiskey enthusiasts to a more custom and personable experience. Therefore, their dream was to raise up the foundations of Barrel House. The core idea of Barrel House is to allow your senses to be enlightened to a level that is only rivaled by the few. Having had their careers, they are now following their passion.

Stephen is part of a multigenerational family that has lived in St. Louis since 1901. Stephen was the third generation to work in a family owned textile business. During his time there, his aspiration and love for the exquisite and unique flavors of whiskey grew to the point where he wanted to bring his experience to fruition. After 25 years of home brewing and distilling, it allowed him to bend flavors to his will. So, the question was posed… How could he bring that understanding and experience under one roof for all to enjoy?
Denise’s roots date back to Jesse James and the wild country of Missouri. She has a background in industrial engineering, architecture, and interior design. Her passion and dedication for family and friends, alongside her love for creativity have given her a vision for others to be able to come together and create memories. Part of her enjoyment for cooking, stems from her love and devotion for family and friends. She wants to take her love of it and turn it into craft drinks and spirits for all to enjoy.
